Job Title: Associate Director R&D Tax
Salary: Up to £75,000 basic, OTE £120,000+
Location: Manchester – office-based
Reporting to: Delivery Director
CBTax is on the lookout for an Associate Director to join our brand-new Manchester office to play a huge part in our continued growth. Our team is the backbone of our success, and as an Associate Director, you will be responsible for the development of CBTax’s market presence, support the origination of new business opportunities, take responsibility for innovative client delivery and excel in thought leadership, whilst managing projects and work streams for client delivery. You will work closely with the Delivery Director, Managers and C-Suite to successfully deliver work and grow the business in the UK.

A day in the life of an Associate Director at CBTax:
As an Associate Director at CBTax, your day will be dynamic and fulfilling, starting with strategic planning and team meetings to align on goals and priorities. You will be responsible for guiding and mentoring your team, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to excel in their roles.
A significant portion of your day will involve client interactions, where you will leverage your expertise to provide insightful tax solutions, address client concerns, and build strong, lasting relationships.
In addition to client management, you will oversee project deliverables, ensuring they meet high standards and are completed on time. Collaboration with other departments will be essential as you work to develop and implement innovative tax strategies. You will also stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to keep the team informed and ensure compliance.
Your role will involve preparing and reviewing complex tax documents, providing strategic tax advice, and identifying opportunities for tax savings. As the day progresses, you will focus on continuous improvement initiatives, looking for ways to enhance processes and increase efficiency.
To be considered for the role:
We are seeking proactive individuals who can independently manage tasks while also collaborating effectively with other Senior Managers, Directors, and Clients. Candidates should have experience in client portfolio management, a significant part of the role will be business development of existing and new clients as well as potentially developing a specialist field of technical and/or sector knowledge and expertise.
We want someone who possess significant experience in corporate tax, with a proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale projects. You should
demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team, driving them to achieve their best. Excellent communication skills are essential, as
you will be required to interact effectively with clients and colleagues, presenting complex tax issues in a clear and concise manner.
A thorough understanding of current tax legislation and its practical application is crucial, along with the ability to stay updated with ongoing changes in the industry. You should be adept at strategic thinking, able to identify opportunities for clients and provide innovative solutions to complex tax problems.
